About

Melissa Trauger
Doctor of Physical Therapy

Melissa Trauger is a physical therapist who treats patients with the mindset that everything is connected in the chaos of the body. This view, along with her love of music, led her to finding the rhapsody within the human body. Both require many moving parts working in concert creating harmonious movement.

Melissa received her Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of Dayton in 2016, and continues her education to diversify her skills when treating  pelvic health and orthopedic populations. Her undergraduate was spent at the University of Michigan where she earned a B.S. in Movement Science. She followed that up with several years spent in Chicago working as a massage therapist and personal trainer.

When Melissa isn’t helping her clients relieve their physical pain, she spends her time with her husband, Ryan, and their dog, Coco. She enjoys writing and playing music, running, and providing comedic relief among friends and family.

  • What is Concierge Physical Therapy?
A convenient alternative to the traditional model of physical therapy treatment where your physical therapist travels to the home or office with the necessary equipment to provide high quality, one on one care.
  • What is cash-based Physical Therapy?
Rhapsody of Motion LLC works on a cash-based, out-of-pocket model to ensure the patient receives treatment without insurance dictating the process. It is a fee for service and out of network for your health insurance policy, however, patients can submit their treatment to insurance themselves for possible reimbursement (necessary claim form will be provided upon request).
  • Do I need referral from my Doctor or Insurance Company?
In the state of Michigan, you do not need a Physician Referral to see a Physical Therapist. Direct Access allows a patient to see a PT without a referral or prescription from a physician for up to 21 days or 10 treatment visits, whichever occurs first. Beyond that limit would require a physician prescription/referral in which your physical therapist will communicate with the appropriate signing physician to receive the necessary documentation. An individual accessing physical therapy for promoting fitness and/or injury prevention is not subject to any limits.
  • What conditions do we treat?
Pelvic Health Diagnoses Orthopedic Diagnoses from Head to Toe Maintenance Care and Wellness Visits

This includes: pain in the abdominals, buttocks, pelvic floor, tailbone, vagina, rectum, penis or testicles. These symptoms can affect all genders and have several different reasons for “why” they occur.
